Story time, gather around kids.
I am going to tell you a story about how this outfit came into being. It was an ordinary sunny college day. Everything was normal until I got an unusual call from my best friend asking me if I wanted to go shopping with her. Sounds normal, I know. However, there is one fundamental problem with this call. My best friend hates shopping! She will not stir out voluntarily unless someone drugs and drags her out. Okay that’s obviously exaggeration but you get my point, right? So this call put me in panic mode for a bit and finally trying not to imagine the worst I went over to the store she was in.
Once I spotted her I put on my best ‘I’m not worried’ voice I tapped her shoulder and chirped a nervous hi. She whipped around, pointed to that very
skirt I am wearing and got right to business. In a bossy voice she said, “Nikki, I really love that skirt but I would never wear it. So you have to buy it. And
you have to buy it NOW.”
And that’s exactly what I did! Now, I cannot thank her enough for making me buy it because who doesn’t love a beautiful bohemian skirt in their
Bohemian style is chic, romantic and has a very laid-back feel to it. But if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t do laid-back, you could probably team it up with a peplum top just like what I’ve done here. I was heading to a brunch and didn’t have anything new to wear and then I saw my lovely boho skirt. Normally, I’d wear it with a tank top and sometimes, maybe throw in a denim shirt. But since I was going to a party I couldn’t wear a tank top, obviously. Then I saw another lovely piece of clothing in my closet “MY PEPLUM TOP!” SIGH!
Soon, clad in my chic boho skirt teamed with my peplum top and minimally accessorized I set off for what turned
out to be a really fun brunch party!
